No to AI generated images

AI-generated media is not "art."

It is a hollow, soulless, exploitative replica of the work that so many people have dedicated their lives to perfecting, which is then stolen and blended into a grotesque mockery of the real thing, without permission or compensation of any kind.

I myself am not a visual artist, all the artworks in my profile are commissioned works that I've paid for with hard-earned money from real and talented human beings, though I am an aspiring writer and cannot imagine the insult I'd feel someone used an algorithm to steal my story and human-centipede it into some wretched abomination with none of the effort, emotion, and personal experience I've poured into it. Or worse, to extract financial compensation from it or even claim that they are "taking inspiration," as if it were the same as me referencing plot elements from my favorite stories, or including deeply personal experiences from my own life.

I am deeply opposed to the inclusion of any AI-generated media in art forums such as DeviantArt, Artstation, and Pixiv, and I urge all fellow creators reading this to do the same and stand up for your own work.

There is no excuse at all to use AI-generated media. Art can be bought from real artists to provide proper compensation for their work, and I've found plenty of artists with affordable rates, even more so than the subscription costs for AI image generators. If you can't affort commissions, DO LIKE ME AND GET A JOB, HIPPIE.

Even better, learn how to draw! In my own experience in teaching myself to write, there is nothing more rewarding than sharing your work with the world and seeing your own progress and improvement as you grow as a creator.

For this reason, I have decided to learn to draw as well. I will embark on the long arduous journey of developing myself as an artist, looking forward to the day I can admire my work and will continue to stand against AI-generated media in art.
